We have been introduced to the MBaaS model during the year 2015. We had a client requirement which demanded Office 365 authentication. MBaaS models were one of the emerging players and we decided to find a robust solution from them based on our feature set and we were very happy with the outcome. Apple released Swift on WWDC 2014. We can build apps for phones, desktops, servers or anything else with Swift. It combines most modern programming approach from Apple’s engineering team and open-source community. It is highly optimized for performance and development. In WWDC 2015 Swift made a major upgrade to version 2.0. It’s made open source and licensed under Apache 2.0. And now in June 2017, Swift holds 12th rank in TIOBE index which shows the popularity it has gained within a period of 3 years.

Flashback to 2013. Whatsapp was becoming increasingly popular, I was introduced to it by a friend. What annoyed me was the fact that I needed to allow Whatsapp to collect data about all my contacts for it to work, whether or not a contact was a Whatsapp user. Incidentally in our company we had just completed a two year journey building a very strong mobile app development team.
